Gildas de la Monneraye is a Photo-realist documentarist. His inspiration is in the ballet of everyday life, exploring the human activity, the influence of it in time and space. Contemplating the human being, his psychological and body language without dissociating him from his environment; the relation between what is structural and what is life. His images are therefore a reflection of the reality with inevitably a personalized perspective on the truth. The encounter between himself and the surroundings in which he moves trying his best not to interfere, in order to preserve the authenticity of the moment. This "self" is the combination of his cultural context, his own historical interest, his interpretation of the situation which personal standards will give way to the collective ones. The difficulty for the photographer is to strike the fair balance between involvement and observation, commentary and testimony. The magic of the photography is a universal language and should be a harmony matter between the content and the form of the image. Therefore, converting the viewer in no more than a simple receptor while confronting him with his own emotions through information and the graphic design of the image. The photographer has the power to fix a time, and let a reflection on the suspended moment.
